Dan Navarro - September 23rd, 2012

 

For more than 20 years, Dan Navarro has written, recorded and toured to a fiercely loyal, energetic national audience. Starting his career as a songwriter, his songs have been covered by Pat Benatar (The Top Five "We Belong"), the Bangles, Dave Edmunds, The Tempataions, Dionne Warwick and a host of others.

Best known for his long partnership in the acoustic folk-roots duo Lowen & Navarro, Dan has recorded and toured solo since June 2009 after Eric Lowen's retirement due to the progression of his affliction with ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's Disease). 

Dan's solo performances are marked by the same hallmarks as his work with Lowen & Navarro — songs of rich insight and experience, delivered straight-up, with honesty, grace and heart, in his moving and expressive baritone voice.

His next album, “Shed My Skin”, is slated for release in 2012. Dan also moonlights as a member of the four-artist Christmas revue, Decembersongs, with friends Amy Speace, Jon Vezner and Sally Barris, now booking their third annual holiday outing for 2012.

If you're planning to attend, here's how we do this ...

First, please remember that we host house concerts to provide our friends (and their friends) an opportunity to come out and enjoy a good show in a comfortable and personal setting. We do this for fun and do not make money on these shows, so we rely on the generosity of our guests to help cover the cost of bringing in the artists and putting on the shows.

Second, while we sometimes have had to limit attendance to insure that everyone has a chance to be close to the performers (and to be insure there's room under the awning should it rain) we do want to encourage you to invite as many friends as you can!

If we reach capacity we will let everyone know and we will start a waiting list just in case someone cancels so we can fill the available space with those waiting to get in. To make sure you get in, reserve your spot now! We hold all of our shows rain or shine.

If you plan on attending, just send us an email with the number of people in your party (with names if possible) and then send us a check to reserve your spot.  

As far as the show goes ...

We want everyone to have time to relax and visit before and after the concert we ask that everyone bring "finger food" to share and their own beverage to drink. We plan on having either the grills and/or the fryers going for hot appetizers to feast on, so if everyone brings a little food, there should plenty to eat. We will also set up a wine tasting table and will be sharing some of the “Camp Dave Winery” vintages so if you'd interested, bring your own favorite bottle to share!
